Ethics

In todays session we learnt about Ethical and Environmental issues. I was interested in the subject of copyright. A lot of well known companies have been in the middle of copyright battles, one of the clothing companies who have been caught out a numerous amount of times is Forever 21. The image below shows Forever 21 copying somebody else's t-shirt design. I have linked the website below.

Trend Companies

I have been looking at different trend companies on the internet and came across the trend company 'WGSN'. I then clicked on Juniors Essentials - Apparel Spring 2015. This shows some trends that this company think will be popular in spring 2015. I looked through the slides and saw the trend 'Duster Cardigans', which I think is going to be a massive trend next spring. To get more information on next springs trends go to http://www.wgsn.com/content/board_viewer/#/55238/page/1.

Also on this website I clicked on Junior Essentials - Accessories Spring 2015, and flicked through the slides to see what's going to be on trend next spring. I came across 'Tactile Choker' which I think is going to be a big trend next year. A lot of celebrities have been photographed wearing chokers and I believe that they will be popular next spring. I think it'll be popular because its unique and dramatic. To get an insight of next years trends click on http://www.wgsn.com/content/board_viewer/#/55422/page/7

Paris

I went to Paris last summer with my family and decided to share some pictures that I had taken. Paris is such a beautiful city and we visited as many landmarks as we could whilst we were there. We saw the Eiffel tower during the day and a night, when it lit up. My mum took a picture of my sister and I standing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

This week I have been looking at 'Gift' companies and have been looking through different websites that includes different aspects of 'Gift' items such as; cards, wrap, tags, bags and packaging.

I found these cute wrapping paper designs made from a small print company names 'The Chalk Lion'. I found this company on Not on the high street, I have linked the website below so you can check out more of their work. http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/thechalklion

I also found this packaging on Not on the high street by the company 'Creative and Contemporary Handmade'. http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/creativeandcontemporaryhandmade

I came across these gift items whilst browsing on Bodie and Foes website. I thought that these were quite simple and I liked the cards because I liked how illustrative they are. These items can be found on Bodie and Foes website http://www.bodieandfou.com/categories/stationery

Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

On Friday the 10th October I went to the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair with my class and I have taken some pictures of products I liked and that inspired me.

My favourite company I saw that day were called Home Front Vintage, which is a company that sells products made from silk escape maps. If you are interested in learning more about Home Front Vintage click on the link below, this will take you to their homepage.

Another designer I came across was called Louise Gardiner. She is a British artist and designer who produces unique one off pieces. Louise's beautiful hand embroidered cushions are what caught my eye when I was looking around the Craft Fair. The rich colour's she used and the detail in her products inspired me to start experimenting with colours and textures. If you like any of Louise's products or want to learn more about her click on the link below, this will take you to her homepage.

All of the photos I have used from the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair have been taken by myself.
