My Final Cushion

I have finally finished my London inspired cushion. It took me ages to decide my final colours and print, however I finally chose red and blue because I think these colours are patriotic for London. I decided to use silver foiling for the middle of my print because I wanted my cushion to look unique and royal. I'm really pleased with how my cushion turned out although it was a pain to put together it was worth it in the end because my cushion turned out amazing!

Kodatrace and Screen Printing

After my trip out to London I became inspired to draw from my own photos, using different medias. Once I had decided which drawing I would like to print onto a cushion I decided to start my Kodatrace design. I chose my drawing of Big Ben to put onto my Kodatrace because its such an iconic building and I think it would look effective for a cushion design.

Once I had put my Kodatrace onto a screen I then began to dye fabrics and print on them. Both of my samples have a tie dye effect for the background and then I have printed my design with black pigment for both samples. I am really pleased with how my design turned out because its detailed and looks effective on the tie dyed backgrounds.

Day out in London

I had a brilliant day out in London a couple of weeks ago and I took pictures of the sights and things that inspired me. I took pictures of the iconic Big Ben clock and the London eye for primary research for my new project of a chosen country or city of my choice and I decided to pick London because it is one of my favourite cities in the world.
